  • Ernest Hemingway (1899–1961); American author and journalist suffered hemorrhoids as well as anthrax infection, kidney trouble, cut eyeball, a broken arm, and torn groin muscle.
  • Gerald Ford (1913–2006); 38th President of the US had always been athletic but in later years he started restricting his activities as a result of suffering with hemorrhoids
  • Jimmy Carter (born 1924); 39th President of the United States (1977–1981) on 1 occasion was forced to cancel his work at the White House.  He underwent hemorrhoids surgery in 1982.
  • Marilyn Monroe (1926–1962); Actress, model, singer, and major sex symbol, suffered from several health problems including insomnia and hemorrhoid.  She kept her medical problem a secret.
